UPDATE: Our Entering Freshman Scholarship Application is now live! Please click the link below.
Applicants in their senior year of high school can apply for Texas Exes scholarships using our online scholarship application. The application will be available in early September. The deadline to apply is December 1 of the applicant’s senior year of high school. Applicants can apply even if they have not yet been admitted to The University of Texas at Austin. The deadline is December 1.
All applicants will automatically be considered for the Chapter and Named Scholarships for which they qualify—no further action is needed. In order to apply for the Forty Acres Scholars Program, applicants must click the “Apply” button and complete an additional essay.
Please note: Consideration for scholarships administered by the Texas Exes is a separate process from the ApplyTexas admission application. Completing the ApplyTexas application does not automatically qualify a student to be considered for Texas Exes scholarships. There is not an option to apply for Texas Exes scholarships on the ApplyTexas application. The Texas Exes online scholarship application must be completed. Any correspondence regarding admission to The University of Texas at Austin should be directed to the Office of Admissions. Students must fill out our separate application in order to be considered for Texas Exes scholarships.
Current UT and Transfer Students
Current full-time undergraduate and graduate students at The University of Texas at Austin and prospective transfer students can apply for Texas Exes scholarships using our online scholarship application. The application will be available in early December, and the deadline to apply is March 1 every year. Do NOT complete an application prior to early December, or you will not be eligible for scholarships.
Please note that December-June is scholarship season, and the response time of the Texas Exes scholarship staff may be slow. During this time, we are not allowed to comment on the status of an application. Recipients are chosen by the Texas Exes scholarship selection committees each spring. Only students receiving scholarships will be notified. Most students selected to receive a Texas Exes scholarship will be notified throughout the month of April and May.
Finalists for the Forty Acres Scholars Program will be announced in late January.
Most Named and Chapter Scholarships are based on earnings from investment of the endowed funds, so amounts vary from year to year. Awards range from $500 to $10,000, with most one-time scholarships falling within the $1,000-$2,000 range.
